In this study, an attempt was made to produce new catalyst of 38wt%TiO2-36 wt%NiO-26 wt%C mixture by mechanical milling and combination of mechanical milling and heat treatment methods. Effect of heat treatment temperature on produced phases was also investigated. In this regard, powder mixture was ball milled at different conditions and then heat treated at 600, 900 and 1200 ºC for 1 h. X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) were used to evaluate the characteristics of various mixtures. XRD patterns showed that after milling for 20 h and then heat treatment at 600 ºC Ni peaks appeared. The intensity of Ni peaks increased with raising the temperature to 900 ºC. In the sample that milled for 10 h and then heat treated at 900 ºC Rutile peaks appeared and Anatase peak intensities decreased. FESEM micrographs of 20 h milled samples revealed nano-size particles which agglomerated, significantly. |
