Abstract: |
This study is about anodizing of brass to form a nanostructured film of copper and zinc oxide on the surface. These oxides are routinely used in the manufacture of electronic devices due to their favorable band gap energies. In this work, synthesis of copper and zinc oxides by anodization of brass foil was performed in NaOH aqueous solution. The effect of three parameters of electrolyte concentration (0.05-0.1-0.2 mol/lit), anodizing time (60-120 min) and voltage (6 to 12 V) has been studied. Structural properties of the film were studied with field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The surface of the sample has been homogeneously oxidized with nanostructured morphology. |
