In this study, the MWNTs films were synthesized by the Thermal Chemical Vapor Deposition. To increase hydrogen reactions, Pd was deposited on surface of MWNTS by two methods. The change of film conductivity indicates these samples present an irreversible behavior in the first cycle of hydrogen exposure at 50 ºC. Raman analyses show that defects on MWNTs surface can be suitable pointes as hydrogen diffusing channel. FTIR demonstrates that hydrogenation process can reduce the C=O to C-O and also produce O-H and C-H bonds. Further, the effect of Pd on the surface chemical composition of MWNTs in hydrogen exposure, andalso the hydrogen storing property of films has been discussed. In this study, We present a simple way to identify capability of MWNTs for hydrogen storage by measuring thin film conductivity before precious characterization. |
