Abstract: |
Mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) for gas separation were synthesized using zeolite 4A nanoparticles in poly(dimethyl siloxane) [PDMS]. It was found that the dispersion of the zeolites nanoparticles in the polymer matrix increased the membrane gas separation performance. The effects of upstream pressure and zeolite loading on relative permeability, diffusivity and solubility of H2 and CH4 through the PDMS/zeolite 4A MMMs were investigated. The MMMs exhibited both higher selectivity of H2/CH4 and H2 permeability. |
