Abstract: |
A state of art molten solt method employing ZnCl2 and Na2WO4.2H2O as raw materials has been introduced to synthesize ZnWO4 nano powders. A newly introduced eutectic composition of LiNO3-KNO3 with the melting point temperature of 125oC was employed as salt media. Characterization of as-synthesized powders was performed making use of X-ray diffraction (XRD), FTIR spectroscopy, Brunner-Emmett-Teller (BET) and transition electron microscopy (TEM). The results shown that temperature has a crucial effect on the crystallite size of synthesized nano powders. Furthermore, TEM micrograph illustrated that the synthesized nano particles at 350oC had mostly angular shape with grain size less than 80 nm. In addition, the average activation energy of crystallites growth during synthesis was found to be about 2.47 kJ/mol; proposing that the crystallite growth during the synthesis procedure occurred by means of an interfacial reaction. |
