In the present research, Nano Al2O3/SiO2 particulates were dispersed in aluminum alloy by semi-solid casting process. The size of the dispersed particles varies from 30 to 50nm. Additives content was 2wt% in various proportions. The effect of T6 heat treatment on mechanical properties of 319 aluminum alloy composite reinforced with nano-sized Al2O3/SiO2 was studied. The result shows that heat treatment improved the wear resistance and hardness of alloys , compared to non-heat treated composites. Microstructure and fracture surface was investigated by optical (OM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). Based on the research results, the optimum state was observed in composite contains 75%Al2O3/25% SiO2 reinforcement particles. |
