Abstract: |
In this research, the effect of 100 and 500 KGy doses of electron beam irradiation on mechanical and thermal properties of epoxy containing 3%wt nanoclay content have been studied. Nanocomposite compounds were prepared by shear mixing followed by ultrasonic method. The dispersion of the organo modified montmorillonite (closite30B) in the epoxy matrix is characterized by XRD (X-ray Diffractometer) and SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) analyses. Thermal and mechanical properties of nanocomposite are investigated by TGA (thermogravimetric) analysis and tensile test, respectively. Result of TGA and Tensile test revealed improvement in thermal stability and tensile strength of nanocomposite using exposure of electron beam (EB). |
