Abstract: |
W-type hexaferrite nanoparticles with composition of SrCo1.7Zn0.1Ca0.1Mn0.1Fe16O27 have been synthesized by the chemical co-precipitation method. The effects of variation of temperature from 900 to 1100 ºC and substituting of Zn, Mn and Ca cations in hexagonal structure of Co2-W-type ferrite on the structural and magnetic properties of nanoparticles has been investigated. The structural properties of the sample were studied by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). The XRD patterns showed that the all samples are belonging to the family of W-type hexagonal ferrites. It is found that from FESEM micrographs the particle size is increased with increasing of synthesis temperature, however, it lies in less than 100 nm in whole of the samples. The magnetic properties such as saturation magnetization, remanence, squareness ratio and coercivity were measured from hysteresis loops. The results showed that with increasing sinter temperature and adding substitution ions, the values of saturation magnetization increase from 62 to 75 emu/g whereas coercivity decreases from 2000 to 440 Oe. High values of magnetization saturation and had an Hc of about few hundred Oersteds. This low value of demagnetizing field makes them ideal for microwave devices, security, switching and sensing applications. |
